Section 51
Do not act against the national interest

(1) No one should do or cause any action that is adverse to the national interest.
(2) For the purpose of sub-section (1), any person who does or causes any of the following acts shall be deemed to have acted inimical to the national interest:-
(a) Insulting, inciting or spreading hatred or enmity against Nepal's independence, sovereignty, geographical or territorial integrity, nationality, independence, self-respect or international image of Nepal,
(b) Transgressing the international border of Nepal or removing the border post or changing the place where the border post is placed, or changing the border post in a way that is detrimental to the geographical or territorial integrity of Nepal, except in the case of agreement with the neighboring countries.
(3) Nepali players or groups of players who represent Nepal and play any game to compete with any player or players in Nepal or in foreign countries shall not play such game in a way that is adverse to the natural result of the competition of such game or by inducing anyone or winning or losing any bet and thus any If the game is played, it will be considered as an offense against the national interest.
(4) A person who commits an offense under sub-section (2) or (3) shall be punished as follows:-
(a) Imprisonment up to five years and fine up to fifty thousand rupees in case of offense under sub-section (2),
(b) Imprisonment up to three years and fine up to thirty thousand rupees in case of offense under sub-section (3).
(5) If someone commits an offense under sub-section (2) or (3) and transacts any amount, in addition to the punishment under sub-section (4), the amount transacted will also be confiscated.
(6) A person who orders or instructs to commit an offense under sub-section (3), encourages or incites to commit such an offense, or assists in committing such an offense shall be punished in the same manner as the principal offender.
(7) If a person holding a public office or a person representing Nepal commits the offense under sub-section (2) or (3) while he is abroad, he shall be imprisoned for up to three years.
